Missions Matters is an educational series featuring expert speakers presenting current topics related to missions and world causes. The purpose of Missions Matters is to educate, inspire, and ultimately mobilize people to get involved in the world around them in the areas that God is calling them. The format includes Ted-talk-type presentations followed by Q&A and table discussion with an energetic, engaging pace that leaves participants inspired and wanting more. Opportunity for next steps will be available when possible.

WEEK ONE  //  February 8
So what is going on with refugees anyway?

  • Fares Abraham, Levant Ministries
    • Fares is the Founder and Executive Director of Levant Ministries, whose mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with Arabic-speaking people around the world. Fares will share about Levant Ministries’ Refugee and War Victims Projects around the world.
  • Sanna Klinner, Fritzlar Bible College
    • Sanna is an intern at CATC from Fritzlar Bible College in Germany. She will share her perspective on how the Church in Germany is building relationships with the large influx of refugees into their country.

WEEK TWO  //  February 15
Human Trafficking, it’s an Indiana issue

  • Megan McGuire, Ascent 121
    • Megan is the CEO of Ascent 121, which is regarded as an expert in the field of teen sex trafficking recovery. Ascent 121 provides long term recovery services for teen survivors of human trafficking in Indiana.
  • Kim Tabor, Stripped Free
    • Kim Tabor founded Stripped Free to reach out into the strip clubs of Indianapolis with the message that they women who work in the adult entertainment industry are loved, they matter, and there is hope in the love of Christ.

WEEK THREE  //  February 22
A look at how the international Church is addressing these issues

Overseas Council works around the world to train local Christian leaders in God’s Word within their own cultures. Hear from three regional directors as they share how the global Church is developing leaders to best address the needs facing their churches and communities.
