Parents of Youth

Youth at the Crossing places a high value on partnering with parents, and so we want to not only keep you informed of all that's going on in Youth, but also to equip you with the tools and information you need to walk alongside your student as they grow in their walk with Christ.

Thinking Orange

What’s it mean to think Orange?

Thinking Orange means that parents and church leaders strategically partner together to have the maximum impact on their child’s faith development.

With Orange, we combine the two primary influences that impact a student’s life – the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the family (red). Orange connects parents and leaders with the same strategy and same end goal – to help youth grow up with an authentic faith in Jesus that connects them to a better story for their life.

From preschool through college the Orange Strategy and curriculum draws on the elements of wonder, discovery, and passion – interlocking essentials that build a student’s view of God, the world, and themselves.

How do we partner together?

There are several ways that Kids! and Youth Ministries partner together with parents and families to best embrace the orange philosophy. We’ve listed a few below:

  • Clear Communication:  We want to keep you – the parent – in the know about what’s going on in our programming. Whether that be through take-home summaries of in-class learning, newsletters, or gatherings, we strive to provide you with the information you need to continue faith development in your home.
  • Parenting Electives & Seminars: You’ve got questions about parenting. We may not have all the answers, but we have tools and resources available we can share with you. Parenting Electives and Seminars are offered at varying times throughout the year.

Providing Tools: We’re all about connecting with you where you’re at – and we get that most of that connecting will be done online. Most of us spend the majority of our day in front of a screen, whether that be in laptop, phone, or tablet form. We’ve got tools for you to continue thinking orange.
