Here are some easy steps you can take to begin this exciting journey of faith:
Choose a trip that suits your skills
If you have an interest in building, then look for a trip with construction as a main component. If you are looking for a trip where you can offer more relational skills than look for a trip where that is a focus.
Andrew can only send you information if you let him know you’re interested. You can get a trip application form at the HUB in the lobby or download it here. Fill it out and turn it in to Andrew as soon as you can!
Save up!
Many trips will not be cheap. Start saving money. And share with your friends and family about your future journey, many of them may want to help make that a reality!
Passport!
If you don’t have a passport and are traveling internationally you will need one. Begin working on this immediately! These will most likely be needed for visas prior to traveling so get working on your passport.
Study!
Even before the teams begin meeting, spend time studying about the area you plan to visit. Any information you find will be helpful in connecting you with the community you will be visiting.
Check out the Journey Guide
CATC has a booklet called the Journey Guide. These are given to all of our CATC Global Outreach teams. These booklets offer general trip information and can give you a glimpse into what a trip with CATC might look like.
Go to the meetings!
At each of your pre-trip meetings you will receive labels to fill in parts of your journey, receive information on shots, trip expectations, group dynamic training, and much more. The more you participate, the more prepared you will be to experience the community you will be visiting.
Pray
There is no shortage of prayer as you prepare to travel. Share with God and others your fears and excitements. This will help you prepare spiritually for the journey that lies ahead!
