For over 30 years, Dessert Theater has been a beloved tradition among our youth ministry as our only yearly fundraiser to help our Youth go.love.one more through summer Workcamps. This year, the tradition will continue, in a slightly altered format to ensure the safety of our youth and audience. We invite you to join us for a night of laughs to support our youth and our partners at Shepherd Community Center!
Because of past generosity and the inability to go on a workcamp trip last summer, we do not have a need to raise funds for this year's Workcamp in Nashville, Tennessee. Instead, our youth will host the 33rd annual Dessert Theater to raise funds for Shepherd Community Center's Middle School & High School summer camp program. This six-week summer camp will be an on-site program for at least 50 students, with a heightened academic remediation to help with learning loss due to the pandemic.
Funding will be used to help provide the following activities:
This year’s Dessert Theater theme is DT: Cancelled! But don't worry...the show is NOT cancelled, and the theme has nothing to do with everything that has been cancelled due to the pandemic. The premise of this year's show is based on a TV Network that has been threatened to be taken off-the-air due to the increasing competition from streaming services. The story will follow the network's executive board as they search for the perfect "new" TV show to save their network from being cancelled!
